Amphiphilic (or Amphipathic) molecule

  • both hydrophilic & hydrophobic parts
  • Phosphate head - hydrophilic
  • Fatty acid tails - hydrophilic

Semi-Permeable

  • allows certain materials to go through the cell.

Pliable

  • can be easily bent (flexible).
