Definition
- also called resting or nondividing stage
- Cells in G0 phase are not actively preparing to divide.
- The cell is in an inactive stage (quiescent) that occurs when cells exit the cell cycle.
- Other cells such as the nerve cells and spinal cord cells never or rarely divide and they remain in G0 permanently.
